Ed Sheeran has revealed that the co-writer on his million-selling single ‘Thinking Out Loud’ no longer has money problems thanks to the worldwide success of the song.
During an interview with The Mirror, Sheeran explained that ‘Thinking Out Loud’ was written during a writing session with fellow musician Amy Wadge (pictured together above) at a time when his friend was experiencing money problems.
Ed stated: “[Amy] was going through financial troubles about a year ago. She drove to my house – my album [X] was nearly done – and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff. While she was there, we wrote ‘Thinking Out Loud’.”
He concluded: “Now she never has to worry about money again.”
Amy Wadge previously collaborated with Ed Sheeran on his independently released EP Songs I Wrote with Amy with the track ‘Gold Rush’ making it on to the deluxe edition of Ed’s breakthrough album +.
